You just read 50 hacks. Here are the two you can't just remember your way through.

Most of the guide is technique — things you do differently once you know them. But two of the tips aren't technique. They're logistics problems, and no amount of remembering fixes a logistics problem. You need a tool.

Tips 16 & 17

“Use jigs or a cardboard coordinate grid for repeat jobs... Verify your origin point before starting. A wrong origin setting can send your design off-bed entirely.”

Good advice. But a generic grid isn't sized to your bed, and eyeballing “close enough” is exactly how blanks end up crooked or off the edge. You need one built for your exact machine, not a printout that almost fits.

Tips 18, 20 & 37

“Save successful settings to your material library immediately... Keep a notebook or spreadsheet of tested parameters... different batches can behave differently even at the same specs.”

All true — and all the reason people burn through scrap running 0–100% power sweeps every time they touch a new material. A library of settings already scaled to your laser's actual wattage skips the sweep entirely.
